student presented one sportsman. The choice mostly was done depending on what

of June in 1986 on the island of Mallorca. His first coach was his uncle
Toni, who introduced him to tennis when
he was three years old.
At age 12 Rafael
Nadal was also a promising football player. Then he had to choose between
football and tennis.
Rafael Nadal’s
professional tennis career started in 2001, when he was15. At
15 years and 10 months, the world No. 762 Nadal won his first ATP match.
At age 16 he was among the best 50 players of ATP.

has won 19 Grand Slam tournaments. He is widely regarded as the greatest clay-court player in
history.
Due to his achievements, many have called Nadal "The
King of Clay". His evolution into an all-court champion has
established him as one of the best players of all time.
